Audiences everywhere are experiencing the magic of this next wave of Jewish family entertainment.

Performing original and traditional Jewish/American rock “The What’s Up Band” offers a dynamic, captivating concert for all ages. We also offer exciting pre-concert musical workshops led by members of the band for the children of your school, camp, program, synagogue and religious school. Your children will then perform in concert with “The Whats Up Band!”

Keyboards, lead and back up vocals, songwriter and vocal arranger; leads the band and choirs with almost two decades experience in choral arranging for concerts, musicals and his own recordings. Jonathan’s career spans Broadway, television as well as national tours as a performing actor and singer. As a songwriter and vocalist his upbeat Jewish/ American compositions are widely known and loved by families, schools and organizations worldwide. His hit song “L’Shalom B’Yisrael” was performed and featured at the 2009 Maccabi games at Madison Square Garden, Jewish Heritage Day at Citi Field and is the finale for all What’s Up Band and Jewish Journeys concerts.

Guitar, lead and back up vocals, songwriter; is one of the most recognizable faces in New York City to kids six and under. Bobby’s contagious enthusiasm, originality and creativity have been entertaining children for the past 15 years. Able to appeal to four-year-olds to forty-year-olds, Bobby DooWah represents the next generation of musical entertainers. As a songwriter, THE NEW YORK TIMES referred to his new CD, “THE MUSICAL MAYHEM OF BOBBY DOOWAH,” as the “Sgt Peppers of children’s music.” The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS writes, “He presents a zany medley of movements” and “charms kids and parents alike.”

Bass, back up vocals, songwriter; producer and recording artist, has toured both nationally and internationally over the past 30 years. David has performed with Music legends Chuck Berry Bo Diddley, Del Shannon, Martha Reeves, members of The Temptations and many more. He has also toured as musical director for many artists and made appearances at radio City Music Hall, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Lincoln Center and at the Kremlin with Chuck Berry in Moscow. He has produced an American Masters Series CD for rock and roll legends Bobby Lewis, Pookie Hudson and Lewis Lymon, brother of Frankie Lymon of the Teenagers. WCBS-FM’s Don K. Reed was quoted as saying, “This is an incredible CD.”

Eric Lipper [email protected]

Keyboards, back up and lead vocals; grew up in Rockland County, NY.  He is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began playing on a toy piano he received for his 2nd birthday.  He has played keyboards and electric guitar with legendary artists, including Tavares, Bobby Lewis, Eddie Holman, Cornell Gunther’s Coasters, Elsbeary Hobbs’ Drifters, The Platters and The Marvelettes. For the past 7 years, Eric has fronted his own acoustic trio, The Tweedlers, playing old time folk songs, country, and Rock ‘n’ Roll, at county fairs and festivals, throughout New York and Pennsylvania.
